The day after Christmas in Wilmington, Delaware, a quiet clothing store became the setting for a tragedy. Jessica Maria Watson, a 22-year-old Black female and new mother, was working the closing shift at the Casual Male Big & Tall on Kirkwood Highway alongside 18-year-old coworker Matthew Macerato. As evening settled in on December 26, 2004, the two young employees wrapped up their duties in a store still feeling the holiday rush, unaware that an intruder would soon shatter the calm.
