Nadine Midgette, 36, a Black woman, was shot in the early minutes of September 13, 2019, on Wilmington’s East Side. Police were called to the 900 block of Bennett Street around 12:28–12:30 a.m., where officers found her wounded and rushed her to a local hospital, but she did not survive. Her identity and age were released publicly the following week, confirming her as the woman killed in the Bennett Street attack.
