Nicole “Nikki” Shaw, 55, a White female from Wilmington, Delaware, was killed on the morning of July 2, 2016, in the Gordon Heights neighborhood. Around 9 a.m., her ex-husband, Walter Shaw, 53, went to her home on the 200 block of Chestnut Avenue, where an encounter moved into the side yard and turned violent. He shot Nicole, fatally wounding her; she was pronounced dead at the scene.
