On April 26, 2017, 16-year-old Tynesia L. Cephas was fatally shot in front of her residence on the 900 block of North Kirkwood Street in Wilmington, Delaware. The incident occurred around 9:42 p.m. when Cephas attempted to intervene in a large altercation outside her home. During her effort to disperse the crowd, shots were fired, and she sustained gunshot wounds to her torso and arm.
