On a summer night in Wilmington, Delaware, the life of 23-year-old Emuel Kamara, a Black male, was cut short in a burst of violence. On July 20, 2019, Kamara was driving on Interstate 95 when he was struck by gunfire. The shooting caused him to lose control of his vehicle, which then crashed into a local deli. When police officers arrived at the scene of the crash, they discovered that Kamara had a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead.
