On July 4, 2020, during a large gathering at Rosegate Park in New Castle, Delaware, 31-year-old Kirk Durrell Flowers Jr. was fatally shot. Two other adult males also sustained gunshot wounds in the incident. All three victims were transported to a local hospital, where Flowers succumbed to his injuries.
