Thomas Gilbert, a 32-year-old Black/African American male from the Dover area, was killed in the early morning hours of July 6, 2020, in Dover, Delaware. Around 2:48 a.m., Dover police were sent to the 100 block of South New Street after reports of shots fired. When officers reached the vacant lot, they found Gilbert suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene, leaving investigators to piece together what had happened in the quiet hours before dawn.
