On the late evening of September 23, 2020, a tragedy unfolded in Wilmington, Delaware, that cut short the life of a young Black man. Shareef Hamilton, a 21-year-old male, was shot in the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue around 11:47 p.m.. First responders located him at the scene with gunshot wounds and quickly transported him to a local hospital for emergency medical care. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
