Heather L. Truitt, a 39-year-old White/Caucasian female from Clayton, Delaware, died on April 25, 2021, after a shooting unfolded at a home in the 300 block of Hopewell Drive. Delaware State Police were called to the property at about 1:05 p.m. that Sunday afternoon after a report that someone had been shot. Before troopers arrived, they learned that the suspected shooter was possibly still inside the house, armed, and with Truitt, who was identified as his girlfriend.
