Christopher Smith, a 14-year-old Black/African American male, was shot on the evening of June 22, 2021, in Wilmington, Delaware, in a burst of violence that unfolded just before 6 p.m. on the 500 block of West 35th Street. Wilmington police reported that officers found him suffering from gunshot wounds after responding to the scene at about 5:56 p.m. He was rushed to a hospital, but he did not survive his injuries.
