On October 23, 2021, at approximately 4:54 p.m., Wilmington police responded to reports of gunfire in the 200 block of West 30th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 18-year-old Synai Smith suffering from gunshot wounds. Smith was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
