James Pinkett, a 67-year-old Black male, was shot on the evening of December 28, 2019, on the 1300 block of East 29th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Police were called at about 5:36 p.m., found him suffering from gunshot wounds, and he was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Wilmington police identified him publicly two days later as the investigation began under Detective Mackenzie Kirlin.
