On October 16, 2017, at approximately 4:20 p.m., Wilmington police responded to reports of a shooting in the 500 block of West 6th Street. Upon arrival, they found 19-year-old Dwayne Grimes suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. Despite immediate medical attention and transport to Christiana Hospital, Grimes succumbed to his injuries.
