On June 28, 2021, at approximately 4:10 p.m., Delaware State Police responded to a report of a vehicle collision near the Target store at Christiana Mall in Newark, Delaware. Upon arrival, troopers discovered 27-year-old Alexis Woods, a Philadelphia resident, unresponsive in the driver's seat of a black Ford Fusion that had collided with a metal guardrail. Woods had sustained a gunshot wound to the upper body and was transported to Christiana Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
