On January 26, 2017, White/Caucasian female Jaclyn “Jackie” Engman, age 25, was found dead inside her apartment in the Vinings Way community near Old Baltimore Pike in Newark, Delaware. New Castle County Police were dispatched around 6:30 a.m.; when officers entered the residence they found the 25-year-old victim in bed, deceased from a gunshot wound. The discovery stunned those who knew the 25-year-old as a young mother and student who had been working toward her bachelor's degree.
