Tysean Nelson, 19, a Black male from Dover, Delaware, was shot and killed late on the night of June 30, 2021. According to police, gunfire erupted around 11:08 p.m. in the 100 block of South New Street near Reed Street, where a group of people had gathered. Officers arrived within seconds of the first calls and began treating the wounded as they secured the area. Nelson was found a short distance away in a nearby lot and was pronounced dead soon after.
