Jayda Reed, a 19-year-old Black / African American female, died in Wilmington, Delaware, on July 26, 2021, during a violent night in the city that included multiple separate shootings. Her death unfolded inside a home in the 1100 block of West 2nd Street, near Van Buren Street, where police were called at about 8:23 to 8:25 p.m. after reports that several people had been shot.
