On August 16, 2022, at approximately 4:50 p.m., 37-year-old Carrie Mondell, a senior vice president at WSFS Bank, was driving in the 700 block of North Washington Street in Wilmington, Delaware, when she was struck by a stray bullet that entered her vehicle through the passenger-side window. The impact caused her to crash her car. She was transported to a hospital in critical condition and succumbed to her injuries less than 72 hours later.
