Bilal Lateef Byrd, a 27-year-old Black / African American male, died after a shooting in Wilmington, Delaware, on March 22, 2022. Police said the violence unfolded at about 9:00 p.m. in the 300 block of South Heald Street, where officers found Byrd suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken from the scene to a hospital, but the efforts to save him did not succeed, and he succumbed to his injuries.
