On December 9, 2024, at approximately 7:35 p.m., Wilmington Police responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of West 6th Street in Wilmington, Delaware. Upon arrival, officers discovered 23-year-old Jihad Bell, a resident of Chester, Pennsylvania, suffering from critical gunshot wounds. Bell was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for emergency medical treatment. Despite the medical team's efforts, he succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter.
