On the evening of March 16, 2021, Wilmington police responded to reports of a shooting in the 700 block of North Washington Street. Upon arrival, they discovered 28-year-old Demier Edward Chambers, a Newark resident, suffering from gunshot wounds. Chambers was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
