David Thomas, a 41-year-old man from Hurlock, Maryland, was reported missing on September 22, 2023. He was last seen in the Dover area on September 15, 2023. A Gold Alert was issued for Thomas, who was believed to be driving a black BMW 328 with Delaware tags (352615) and heading to the Woodside area.

On September 29, 2023, human remains were discovered in a tax ditch in Meadowbrook Acres. The Division of Forensic Science later confirmed that the remains belonged to David Thomas.
