Michael Kressman, a 30-year-old White male from Magnolia, Delaware, died after a shooting in the London Village Community in the early minutes of March 3, 2022. Delaware State Police were called to the 200 block of Jeffrey Drive at about 12:05 a.m. after a report that a man had been shot. When troopers arrived, they found that Kressman had suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.
He was taken by EMS to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting followed a confrontation outside a residence. Investigators said 19-year-old Christopher Evans was inside a vehicle and arguing with a female acquaintance through the vehicle's window. The dispute escalated from a verbal argument into a physical altercation. Kressman entered the situation when he tried to help the woman. As he came to her aid, police said he was shot by 21-year-old Keyonte Brown of Dover, who was also inside the vehicle with Evans.

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #3 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $1,085,000 cash bond.
Evans was also arrested, though the charges publicly reported against him were different from Brown's. Evans was charged with aggravated menacing, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to the Department of Correction on a $24,000 secured bond.
