A 25-year-old Black man named Syncere Friends was shot early on April 14, 2024, near Irish Mike's pub on West Loockerman Street in Dover, Delaware. At approximately 1:26 a.m., Dover police were dispatched to the location after reports of gunfire. Syncere Friends suffered a gunshot wound to the chest, while a 30-year-old woman from Magnolia was shot in the lower body. Both were transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for medical treatment. Syncere Friends succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
