Black / African American male Kainami Grant, age 15, was shot on the night of January 6, 2020, in an alley behind Paul Street near Davis Circle in Dover, Delaware. At 9:49 p.m., the teenager called 911 himself to report that he had been shot multiple times. Officers found him conscious when they arrived and rushed him to Bayhealth's Kent General Hospital, where he died of his injuries. Police later confirmed his identity through fingerprints before notifying his family.
