Camay Mitchell DeSilva, an 18-year-old Black woman, was shot on the campus of Delaware State University in Dover in the early morning hours of April 21, 2024. Police responding around 1:40 a.m. found her near the Warren-Franklin Hall dormitory with a gunshot wound; she was taken to Bayhealth Kent Campus, where she died.
