On September 3, 2005, in Yarmouth, Maine, 40-year-old Lee Holbrook Nason was fatally shot by her husband, 58-year-old Robert W. Nason, who then took his own life in what authorities classified as a domestic murder-suicide. This tragic event was among the 19 homicides recorded in Maine that year, with over half being domestic in nature.
