On July 2, 2004, in Lee, Maine, 51-year-old Rosemarie Dyer was shot in the leg inside her home. She succumbed to her injuries two days later, on July 4, 2004. Her husband, Carl S. Dyer, 50 at the time, was charged with manslaughter in connection with her death.
