On August 25, 2016, 34-year-old Valerie Tieman was killed by two gunshots to the head and neck. Her body was discovered nearly a month later, on September 20, buried in a shallow grave behind the Fairfield, Maine, home she shared with her husband, Luc Tieman, and his parents. The grave contained personal items, including a bag of potato chips, a bottle of cologne labeled "Guilty," and a handwritten note with an apologetic tone.
