On January 26, 2015, in Fryeburg, Maine, 52-year-old Jody Buzzell was fatally shot by her husband, Mark Buzzell, in their home on West Fryeburg Road. Following the shooting, Mark left a note and informed family members of his actions before taking his own life in a vacant neighboring residence owned by a relative. The Maine State Police discovered Jody's body around 1 a.m. and found Mark's body approximately four hours later. This incident marked Maine's first homicide of 2015.
