On July 22, 1999, in Wilton, Maine, 74-year-old Evelyn Bayliss was fatally shot by her husband, 81-year-old Clarence Bayliss, in their Munson Road home. After the shooting, Clarence contacted the police to report his actions and indicated his intention to commit suicide before their arrival. Upon reaching the scene, officers discovered both Clarence and Evelyn deceased, confirming the incident as a murder-suicide.
