Patricia "Patti" Eger, a 62-year-old White female, was found deceased in her home. Alongside her were her husband, Robert Eger, 72, and their friends, Cynthia Eaton, 62, and David Eaton, 66. The four victims had all died from gunshot wounds.

The suspect in this devastating event was Joseph Eaton, the 34-year-old son of Cynthia and David Eaton. Just days prior, on April 14, 2023, Eaton had been released from a correctional facility after serving a sentence for aggravated assault. In July 2024, Joseph Eaton pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including four counts of murder, and was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. However, his sentence was cut short. On October 29, 2025, it was reported that Eaton had died in a Massachusetts correctional facility where he was being held. The cause of his death was not immediately released, but authorities stated that no foul play was suspected. The investigation into his death was being handled by the Massachusetts State Police.
