On April 18, 2023, Cynthia Eaton, 62, and her husband, David Eaton, 66, were found fatally shot in Bowdoin, Maine, along with their longtime friends, Robert and Patricia Eger, both 62. The Eatons, originally from Florida, were staying with the Egers after Cynthia had picked up their son, Joseph Eaton, 34, from the Maine Correctional Center upon his release from prison on April 14.
