On September 29, 2004, 60-year-old Janet L. Bacon was fatally shot inside the Brooks, Maine, residence of 54-year-old Jerome Reynolds Jr. Born on April 19, 1944, in Skowhegan, Maine, Janet was the daughter of Irvin and Alta Curtis Turner Sr. She dedicated many years to home health care, providing compassionate assistance to the elderly, and took great joy in transporting special needs children.
