On June 19, 2022, 21-year-old Kelzie Caron of Auburn, Maine, was found deceased alongside 21-year-old Pierre Langlois of Connecticut in an apartment on Fourth Street in Auburn. The Auburn Police Department and Auburn Fire responded to a call reporting a cardiac arrest, but upon arrival, they discovered both individuals had died.
