In the quiet town of Limington, Maine, the morning of June 17, 2021, was shattered by the discovery of a house fire on Hardscrabble Road. Firefighters responding to the early morning blaze made a grim find inside the home: the bodies of two people. The victims were identified as 47-year-old Cheryl Cote, a white female, and her boyfriend, 46-year-old Daniel Perkins. It was soon determined that the fire was not the cause of their deaths; both had suffered from gunshot wounds.
