Murdered

On April 7, 2016, in St. Albans, Maine, 53-year-old Randy Vernal Erving was fatally shot in his home. His nephew, 24-year-old Jeremy G. Erving, was charged with his murder. The two had spent the day drinking together before Randy retired to bed around 7 p.m. Later that night, Jeremy allegedly broke into a relative's home, stole a .30-30 caliber rifle, and returned to Randy's residence. Jeremy claimed to remember little of the events, recalling only "a bang and a barrel."
