On Thanksgiving Day in 2005, a family dispute in Portland, Maine, ended in the tragic death of 51-year-old Michael Davis. The male victim had recently returned to Maine from New Orleans after his older brother, Edmond "Bill" Davis, sent him money to travel home following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. Michael, who had a history of alcoholism and a criminal record, was living with his brother and their 74-year-old mother at the time.
