In the late hours of a Monday night in June of 2014, a violent tragedy unfolded in a Pawtucket, Rhode Island apartment that would leave two men dead. Robert Amado, a 43-year-old male, was identified by authorities as the aggressor in a fatal attack that ended in his own death. The incident, which took place on North Bend Street, was ultimately deemed a murder-suicide by police.
The events began to unfold when Amado went to the residence of 45-year-old Timothy Robillard.
Inside the apartment with Robillard was Amado's ex-girlfriend. After looking through a bedroom window and seeing his ex-girlfriend with Robillard, Amado opened fire into the apartment. He then forcibly entered the home through the window he had just shot through.
Once inside, Amado shot Robillard multiple times. The woman, who was unharmed, was able to flee the scene and escape the violence. After killing Robillard, Amado then turned the gun on himself, inflicting a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. When police arrived, they found both Amado and Robillard deceased inside the home. A revolver was recovered near Amado's body.
Further investigation into Amado's background revealed a history of legal troubles. At the time of his death, he was facing a dozen charges related to the theft of over $150,000 worth of construction and landscaping equipment across five states. He had also been accused of threatening witnesses in that case. Originally from Carver, Massachusetts, Amado was the owner of a fencing company and a father of six children.
