In the spring of 2020, a young Black man's life was cut short in a burst of violence that has so far left more questions than answers. Twenty-one-year-old Russell James Davis III, a resident of Aurora, Colorado, was fatally shot on the evening of May 4th. The incident unfolded near the Circle K gas station situated at the intersection of South Sable Boulevard and East Alameda Avenue, a typically busy area that became the scene of a tragedy.
