On September 22, 2018, 19-year-old Zachary Medina was fatally shot in Providence, Rhode Island. Originally from the Bronx, New York, Zachary had moved to Providence at the age of one and frequently visited the Dominican Republic. He was an aspiring chef who had recently started working at a McDonald's in Newport and was enrolled at the Exeter Job Corps Academy to pursue a culinary certificate.
