In the quiet city of Minot, North Dakota, a young White/Caucasian man's life was tragically cut short on the evening of May 13, 2020. Andrew Jordan Parisien, a 21-year-old male, found himself in a heated argument with his stepbrother, Damion Michael Allen Colvin. The dispute, which began inside a southwest Minot residence, soon spilled outside and escalated into a physical confrontation.
The altercation took a fatal turn when Colvin went back into the house and emerged with a gun.
He then shot his stepbrother multiple times in the chest. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Parisien was rushed to Trinity Hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Andrew Jordan Parisien succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead about an hour later.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement arrived at the residence and took Damion Michael Allen Colvin into custody. He reportedly admitted to the act, stating to the police, 'I shot him.' Colvin was subsequently arrested and charged with Class AA felony murder, the most serious homicide charge in North Dakota. Later, he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of Class A felony murder.
