On May 10, 2019, 55-year-old Mark Vickerman was found shot to death at his residence in Minot, North Dakota. His son, 31-year-old Christopher Alan Vickerman, was arrested two days later and charged with his father's murder. The relationship between father and son had been strained, with frequent arguments over business matters, finances, and custody of Christopher's children.
