On October 2, 2022, Au’Mau’Vion Watford, a 28-year-old African American male, was found dead from gunshot wounds at a home in the Rivercreek Mobile Home Park outside of Washington, North Carolina. The Pitt County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call shortly after 11:00 pm and discovered Au’Mau’Vion Watford deceased at the scene. His older brother, Auviaughne Watford, 29, was also found at the scene with gunshot wounds and was taken to ECU Health for treatment.
