Ikaika Stone, a 39-year-old Native Hawaiian man from Honolulu, was out in Kaka‘ako late on the night of October 27, 2023, when a dispute turned into something final. Police later described the moment as an argument that escalated into a fight, and then into gunfire. By the time first responders arrived—reports placed the call at about 11:13 p.m.—Stone had been shot multiple times.
