On December 14, 2023, Barabbas Dietrich, a 37-year-old male from Mililani, Hawaii, was fatally shot while driving on Kamehameha Highway near Kipapa Street. Responding officers found him in the driver's seat of his Nissan Pathfinder with a gunshot wound to the right side of his head. He was transported to The Queen's Medical Center, where he was declared brain dead the following day.
