James Crawford, aged 33, died on September 26, 1913, in an unfortunate accident while serving as a Deputy Sheriff in Jefferson County, Alabama. He was part of a posse investigating an armed robbery of an Alabama Great Southern passenger train that had occurred the previous day in Bibbville.
