On May 28, 2024, a fatal shooting occurred in the parking lot of Colonial Plaza in Inverness, Florida. The victim, identified as Traske C. Johnson, a 33-year-old man, was found by deputies from the Citrus County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) with several gunshot wounds. Despite being taken to a local hospital, Johnson succumbed to his injuries.
