Officer Thomas E. Wright, a 36-year-old member of the Decatur Police Department in Alabama, succumbed to a gunshot wound on March 27, 1930. The incident occurred when Officer Wright and his partner, Officer Wade Moore, stopped a vehicle for disregarding a stop sign near the Bee Line Highway.
