On March 26, 1986, in Anniston, Alabama, 76-year-old Frederick Leonard "Fred" Blackmon and his 41-year-old wife, Evelyn, were victims of a brutal crime. That morning, Fred, accompanied by a slender white male with long dark hair, cashed a $5,000 check at the drive-in window of a local bank.
